Lotta Bruhn & christmas gift.

Last week I got a suprice when I read Lotta Bruhns blog. She was telling the story behind her latest illustration, the Indian Nod. I read the story about Stina & Göran who just came back from a trip in India. Hold it, how many couples in Sweden are called Stina & Göran and who just came home from India?! It was my friends she was talking about!

Had a sms conversation with Stina about it & she wondered how I knew about Lotta Bruhn & her blog. I told Stina that I like Lottas illustrations & especially her whale tray.

Did I get even more supriced today when I received a big envelope in the mail today with Lotta Bruhns stickers on?!?

I was so supriced & didn't understand a thing. I have told mon monsieur that I would love that tray but I am not even sure he remembers it (I show him stuff almost every day). But I could feel it was a tray in the package..

But no, it was a very very lovely gift from Stina, Göran & Lotta herself! Can you believe my luck!? And with the whale tray Lotta sent some of her other things, like christmas stickers, a note card with a little fox, a post card, an owl bookmark & a pin with a cat. So so cute. You made my day!

Thank you, thank you, thank you guys! You are the best! En riktigt God Jul & Gott Nytt År till er!!!

Inspiration christmas window

There are no window ledges in our apartment. Actually, it doesn't seem to be that common to have window ledges here in France. Can't remember that I have seen any at all here when I think about it. If I had any, I would decorate it something like this for christmas. Very cute. Would fit perfect in the windows in my old apartment in Stockholm. The picture is from Leva & Bo (Expressen) in Sweden.

Oreo Truffles

Treat yourself or someone you love with these yummy Oreo Truffles. They are super easy to make and will be a great treat under the christmas tree. You can find the recipe here, or scroll down if you prefer it in gram. I made them for the first time today, to test them out before giving some away for christmas. I already ate two, which you can see in the picture above. Now I will try to keep my fingers of them until mon monsieur comes home..

In Europe (well, in France & Sweden anyway) you can't find as big packages of Oreo's as in the U.S. So I had to change the recipe. And I also skipped to sprinkle some cookie crumbs on top of the truffles. I didn't find Philadelphia cheese in the store I went to either, but my truffles turned out delicious anyway.

Here is the recipe for about 20-25 truffles..

1 package of Oreo cookies (175 gram)
About 140 gram Philadelphia cream cheese (I took Fromage Blanc instead)
200g of milk chocolate OR white chocolate (whatever you prefer)

Mix the cookies in a food processor until finely cruched. Soften the cream cheese for about 10 seconds in the microwave (or leave it out from the fridge for half an hour before you start making the truffles).

Add the cream cheese with the cookie crumbles. Stir with the back of a big spoon until well blended. Roll to tiny balls (two bites big). Put them in the freezer for an hour (and not just for some minutes as the orginal recipe says. This will stop them from falling apart in the chocolate like mine did).

Then melt the chocolate in a bowl over boiling water. Dip the balls in the bowl of chocolate with the help of two forks. Let the excess chocolate drip back into the bowl before moving the ball on to a plate with baking sheet. Tips! Dip them two times (let them dry some minutes in between) for more evenly chocolate coat.

You can also sprinkle the truffles with some leftover cookie crumbs if you have saved a cookie or two. Or sprinkle them with colored sugar or sprinkles in general.

Put your truffles in the refrigerator for an hour before enjoying them.

A last tips that I didn't do, but for sure will do for the christmas gifts! Before freezing the balls for an hour (and before the chocolate dipping) put a tooth pick in the top of them. Will make it easier to dip them after, and to make the chocolate coat more even. And then just sprinkle something over the them to hide the tooth pick hole.

I would be so so happy if I could wake up on christmas day and discover this Solär IKEA kitchen (minus that hood) in our flat instead of our teeny tiny almost nonexisting kitchen.

As mentioned in the last post we have been ripping down the wallpaper in the kitchen. We did it after the news that we won't move until june. We are going to move because of work, and again, that is delayed. When I moved to France in the beggining of march we were supposed to move to another city in july-august. Then due to delay of construction workthe move was supposed to take place in february 2009. But for the same reason as last time, now it is delayed another six month.

So, we decided to do something we have been wanting to do for a long time, repaint the kitchen! We didn't want to put any money in the the apartment here since we are not going to stay, and since it is a rental. But, to chear ourselves up after the news of the delay we will do it! Or, we have to do more then just paint. After taking down the wallpaper we noticed that we need to do more work on the walls then we thought. Since they had been cheating a bit last time some work had been done in the kitchen.

Those ugly 70's tiles that are sitting in there will stay (the tiles make me not want to put up a picture of the kitchen here) for the next renter to admire (poor them). Well, if my wish to Santa wont't come true that is.. But atleast I won't have to stare on that awful yellow wallpaper anymore! Tomorrow will be spent looking for new wallpaper/paint.

Its been a busy month with needed vaccation, lots of baking, longway visiter, hosting a Lucia/glögg party at home (Swedish traditions, made into a three course meal dinner party, which was a hit!), ripping down wallpaper in the kitchen among other things. I haven't been decoration that much for christmas. But here are some of it caputured on pictures I found in the camera. This will be the first christmas ever spent without my family back in far far away..

I have been having troubles finding fabrics I like here in France. Or, at least I haven't found a store yet selling fabrics I like. Flicking throu an old IDEAT I found out about a company that could be the answer for what I have been looking for.

Atelier R.Bernier is a design workshop placed in an old textile factory in Troyes, France. Romain Bernier and Arnaud Magloire are the creative duo behind behind the company. They describe their style as poetic, colourful, modern and graphic. Check out their website here.

They have a clear influense from the nature. Sometimes a little too clourful for me, but I would love to have some of their pillows or, a meter or two of their fabrics. Like their tables are fun too!

New drinking glasses

Not that we needed new glasses. We don't even have place for all the ones we already had. Some are tucked down in the basement, and then I still have all my Iittala glasses in the land far far away.

But I have been having my eyes on these a while now. So when I passed the store yesterday looking for christmas gifts, I saw they didn't have many left. I bought one, was thinking we could always use it for something (other then drinking from it I mean). But when I came home I tried it as a drinking glass, and I liked it.. So when monsieur came home we decided we should buy five more.

I don't know how I do it. I always seem to have too many glasses. But you could never have too many glasses? Could you??

As I said before, I drink a lot of tea (as right now for example). When I found my favorite tea cups I bought ten of them, just to be sure I had enough. That was some years ago. Now the cups are starting to get worn out. I want to find new ones in a simular shape, and they have to be white. Was thinking about drawing a simple pattern on them too.

Then I found out about Bailey doesn't bark. New York designer Re Jin Lee, makes the perfect tea cups. Both under her own name, and under her company's name Bailey doesn't bark. The cups are a little too prize for my wallet. 62$ for the two in the picture on the left(Dotted cup set). 89$ for the four in the picture on the right(The four seasons cups black). My latest etsy purchase

Yesterday my latest Etsy purchase arrived in the mail. It was a box with letterpress coasters from the lovely shop 12fifteen by Johanna Anderes. Me and monsieur decided for the gray trees coasters, but there are many more designs worth checking out in her store.

The coasters arrived quick and easy in a very cute package. And also in the package were some more coaster samples in other designs. Mon monsieur fell in love with the bubbles design too (me in more then one design), so we might order more ones sooner then I thought.

Last week we had two birthdays to celebrate. One of those birthday girls got a Melissa Moss note card Ebb, that I framed in a Ribba frame from IKEA. I had planed to get a white frame, but unfortunatly they didn't have a single white one in the size I needed at IKEA. So I bought a silver one instead. But after trying it out with the card at home, I was happy with the result. And most important, the birthday girl seemed happy with her gift.

Hand on my heart

Haven't been blogging a lot lately, I know. I have been stressing out over our PACS. It was such a hazzle to get all the papers we needed. Then a trip made it impossible for it to take place in december as booked. And the only opening they had was november 14th or we had to wait six more months. But, finally we had all the papers, and we signed our PACS yesterday. We spent a wonderful day yesterday, just the two of us. And we are very very happy, and relaxed again.

Cute mushrooms

I like the shape of a mushroom. So of course I fell in love with both these lovely mushroom stools when I first saw them. The one on the left is Fungo by Paola Navone for Riva 1920. It is made out of solid cederwood for the base, and walnut for the seat.

The one on the right is Le Champignon by Hanke for kids. Would fit perfectly in a kids room.

The new updated design of the old swedish advent candlesticks, Orgel by the girls of Wis design is on my wish list this christmas. It is produced and sold by SmålandDesign. The price will be around 1990kr (around 248 u.s dollars)

I am usually not much for holiday decorations, but this year it might be a little more of that in my home. We won't go to the land far far away for christmas this year. So the intake of swedish christmas will be on a diet. Which might be the reason I want to decorate my home more for the holidays. And I would love to do so with this one..

I truly wish I could just run down the stairs and around the corner to ICA (food chain store in Sweden) in my old neighbourhood in Stockholm right now.. For christmas they sell these cute candleholders for only 79kr (right under 10 US dollars) a pair. It is a yearly collaboration between the Red Cross, ICA and Konstfack Humanity. They are designed by former Konstfack student Kristin Karls.

I want both colors, black and white. Will call someone in far far away and ask a favor..

The new Alphabet modular sofa for Fritz Hansen is inspired by toy Lego bricks. As you can read on the website it consists of a series of "soft building blocks" enabling you to build and create your own sofa design. The overlapping structure in the sofa design creates a building brick effect, an important design feature of the alphabet sofa. I don't know about you, but I would not say no to one in my own home.

This cute Lucile lamp, in picture 1, by Sylvain Rieu-Piquet for Cinna would be perfect on my balcony. I wonder if it is safe to hang outside? With the easy hanging I could take it in when it is not in use though.

I also like this magazine holder, Caroll by Philippe Teste for Cinna. Would come hand as we have papers, magazines etc everywhere for the moment in lack of good storage.

Tolga vs. Bodö at IKEA

Via the lovely blog of Heather Moore, Skinny laminx, I saw this Tolga bed(picture 1) from IKEA U.S. Was supriced to see it since I hadn't seen it in France, or not even in the IKEA country Sweden. I knew they didn't sell all of the swedish collection all around the world. And for example mattresses and other items with different country standard measurements. But I did not know they sold items designed for specific countries. My guess is that Bodö, available in Europe, is the substitute for the european shopper. Bummer, I wanted Tolga as a guest bed/day bed in our future guest room.

I hope everyone had a just as great weekend as I did. On saturday we went to visit a friend in Rennes. Sunday we spent at a zoo, visiting inside the monkeys park. Was very nice sitting there inside with them, taking many nice photos. Walking out from the zoo I found these cute berries/fruits. Have no clue what they are, never seen any like this before. But I picked some for decoration.

Today we will get some longway visitors, my grandmother & husband from the north of far far away! They have traveled around 2900 km (1800 miles) by car to get here. May I add she is 78yrs old. They will stay until wednesday, then they will continue south to Spain. So I won't be able to post anything here until wednesday evening.

Fabric napkins vs. paper napkins

In this household we use too much paper. Paper napkins, paper towels, alot of kleenex (mostly me) etc. I thought I should do something about that, try to cut down the usage a little. I will still be using lots of kleenex though, can't do much about that. Or chop of my nose, but I don't want to do that.

So today I bought theese little cuties pictured above, linen (mixed with vicose) napkins Camille (I know the link is wrong, can't find the napkins online, so the tablecloth have to do, sorry) at Habitat.

I only bought two for a start, one for monsieur and one for me. Want to see how they look after a turn in the washing machine before I decide if I should buy more for when we get guests.

French designer Mlle Héloïse is not new for the frenchmen. I saw her bags at La Marelle the first time I was in Rennes to visit a friend. Her work remind me alot of Angie Lewin and Lucienne Day. If I had a little daughter I would buy her the smaller stylish bag in jute (picture number 1). Might buy the bigger one for myself. I would use it as a beachbag, or to bring home groceries from the market in. Will also pick up one or two of the make up bags (picture number 2) the next time I am in Rennes. One of my favorite swedish textile designers, Linda Svensson has released her very first own collection Linda Svensson Collection. She is the designer behind some of the most popular textiles at IKEA, and also the Svamp cushion from Mio and some pattern at Klippans Yllefabrik, like I have written about before.

The first pieces from her new collection are three pillowcases; Freja, Saga and Lovisa, named after her three nieces. Hand printed by Frösö Handtryck. You can buy them at Designonline.se.

Despite all the critic I read about the company around the blog world, I must say it is a franchise company, AND they don't seem to have the same problems in Europe as in the U.S. I have bought other things from BoConcept before without any problems.

But I am still stressed out about all the papers we need for our PACS in december. What happened to the paperless world? My hair will turn grey.. Now I have to run downtown for with some more papers..

L'Épices

My internet connection and I haven't been the best of friends the past two days. But, it seems, it is better now. So I will try to make a post..

I am not a fan of labels, or at least not not so pretty ones. Or many different in the same place. So usually I take the labels off glass jars, or print new ones I made myself for plastic or paper jars. In the land far far away I had bought the same jars in different sizes for everything stored in the kitchen. That I like even better. But does I gave away when I moved.

Yes, I bought some new from IKEA the other week, and I will buy even more later. But until I move again I will stick to this method, to peel the labels off or print new ones. It is easier and cheaper. And sometimes you notice that some of them actually aren't that bad after removing the label. And if you buy all your spices (which we have not done..) from the same place usually they are in the same kind of jar. So it looks homogeneous!
And if your kitchen is as small as mine, you can't hide the jars. But this way it looks a little cleaner and nicer.

You can see a label I made myself on the big blue salt jar. I copied the story about salt making from the original label, with a new font and new background.

Life Line Coat rack-by James Burgess

In 2003 I saw (via Living etc I think) James Burgess Life Line coat rack at Northumbria University's New Designers Exhibition in London. In april this year, guess my suprice, I saw it again. At Lagerhaus in Stockholm. I bought one right away. Mine has never been hung yet.. Since we where supposed to move in august. But the move got delayed, and we are still waiting for the move to take place in february instead. So for now the Life Line coat rack is packed down. Mine, and also the one I saw in 2003 (I think) is/was black. You can find it here.

Repotting and walnuts

While waiting for my father-inlaw to make us a pot for our succulent garden I have repotted them in another pot. Got to borrow one of his bonsai pots since he said he might not be finished with the one he is supposed to make until december. Mon monsieurs parents have a walnut tree in their garden, and when we went to get the pot we also got some walnuts. So after seeing little Jack Phillips walnut succulent garden at Apartment Therapy I decided to make my own! Aren't they the cutest?

Ps, my internet connection is horrible today. Will post the rest of my prepaired posts tomorrow! Hope it will be better by then.

IKEA

Last thursday we ran around all over town all day. One stop was IKEA. We bought some small things we needed, like storage jars, jars for spices, a new black PS Vållö, some napkins and candles. We also took the obligated stop at the swedish food corner (my favorite part of IKEA). We have already eaten many of the things we bought there. But if I remember everything, we bought Ballerina cookies, Marabou (Mmm.. Marabou) milk chocolate bars, tunnbröd, lingonberry lemonade and probably something else that I already forgot..

So since then I have been enjoying a daily glass of lingondricka (lingonberry lemonade) on the balcony. The Marabou and tunnbröd disappeared quickly..

Höganäs Keramik

Just read that Höganäs Keramik released more products in their glossy black glaze ALMOST BLACK (not shown in the pictures). I miss my colored plates and bowls that are tucked away in the attic in Sweden.. We have glossy black (not Höganäs) plates for the moment, but I am a little fed up by them. I dream about my colored ones.. We do have my white Höganäs plates in the basement though.. Think I will take them up tomorrow!

Buttons and other stuff

A while back I bought some buttons and yarn, but I forgot to show what I have done. Nothing major, but some changement. Some buttons to update a cardigan. Just bought two though, because I was going to use them for another thing first. So I have to go back and get five more. Just haven't got around to do it yet. Also updated my wrist warmers from last year with new buttons. The rest of the buttons, and the yarn, I will use making new wrist warmers. Haven't got around to start making them either, since its been 23-24 degrees celsius (73.4 fahrenheit) the last days. So I haven't really been thinking about winter accessories.. Do to the weather and other engagements I haven't been blogging since 5 days. But I will put up more posts today!

The danish designer Cecile Manz new lamps Caravaggio for Light Years caught my eye. The shade is high-gloss lacquered, while the foot and standard have been given a dull lacquer finish. You can tilt the shade up to 40 degrees making it a perfect reading lamp. They hit the stores in december.

Playsam wooden toys

Playsam is the leading Scandinavian design company for executive wooden toys. Their design have been awarded with Swedish Design Classic by the Swedish National Museum and Excellent Swedish Design over and over again. The toys make an excellent gift, and last a life time.

I saw the streamliner classic some weeks ago at a flea market and walked straight over to show mon monsieur. The salesman said "it is a design classic, from Sweden". I simply answered "I know, I am swedish". It turned out he actually bought it at Arlanda, the airport in Stockholm, in the early 90's.

I have always loved their timeless rounded cute shaps. Will for sure have some of their toys in my home when I get kids.

My birds

I like my swallow mobile from Flensted Mobiles, bought in Copenhagen some years ago. I love the simple paper birds. For now it hangs in our hallway. In my lovely apartment in fare fare away it hung in my bed room (in the picture (which is shot just after repainting the bed room. so it is a mess, frames waiting to be hung etc..)).

Now Flensted have launched a new website for their more abstract mobiles, found here. I think after we have moved, I will invest in their Futura mobile too.

Today I will be spending repainting our wardrobe doors in the bed room. We have mananged to make a hole in one, of three doors, with the handle of the bed room door. So we have to fix it before we move.

After I will go and buy some yarn and buttons to make new wrist warmers. Will also buy some buttons and "update" my old ones.

In love with the pattern

It is getting colder outside. So for two days in a row, my favorite scarf got to leave the closet and has been with me out on town. I bought it a year ago, from Kate Moss collection at Top Shop. I love the birds (swallows) pattern. It doesn't matter that it was a little expensive for a scarf, I have been wearing it alot the past year. And I know it will be my favorite for years.

Anyway, these two above I found when visiting Sweden this summer. They are very very Lucienne Day and Angie Lewin (and very very me!). The are called Ella and Uppsala, both found at Åhléns.

Catarina Giarimi- Giarimi Design

Catarina Giarimi is a swedish designer & interior designer. I admire her beautiful engraved glassware. Above you find some of her work, like the lowball glass & martini glass from the series Caribbean Cocktail (pic one & two). And some of the glasses from the Stockholm Schnapps series (pic three & four).

The Stockholm Schnapps series is engraved with patterns based on wellknown sites in Stockholm. Like the Globe, Sergels torg, the subway sign, City Hall, Skansen, Kaknästornet and many others. They come in a very nice package with a cute box, a leaflet with various pictures of the different sites and recipes for home flavoured snaps. A perfect gift!

Ferm Living -Wall stickers

If it was not that we have woven wall paper through out the whole apartment. I would put up some wall stickers from Ferm Living to make it a little more personal & fun in our present home. I will absolutly use their stickers and wall papers in our next home.

Klippans Yllefabrik

Today fall has found its way here too. I am sitting here wraped up in a blanket drinking tea looking out the window. Outside the leaves has started to fall down and it has been raining. A day like this I would not say no to a wool blanket from Klippans Yllefabrik. This wool factory is a family business, started when Jöns Petter Magnusson bought a wool spinning mill at Klippan, Sweden in 1879.

They have so many nice patterns so I have a hard time deciding which one I like the most. These five above are my favorites though.

Picture number 1 & 5 shows RETRO in lambs wool, designed by Karin Mannerstål. Number 2 shows MASK in lambs wool, designed by Lotta Glave. Number 3 shows PRISMA in merino wool, designed by Linda Svensson. Number 4 shows BIRD in lampbs wool, designed by Lotta Glave. Number 6 shows POLKA in lambs wool, designed by Birgitta Bengtsson Björk.

Svamp cushions

These cushions you find at Mio in Sweden. It is called Svamp, which simply means mushroom in swedish. Designed by textile designer Linda Svensson, whom is the designer behind for example Jorun and Patricia from IKEA. I want one of them, the petrol or the olive one. I would put it in our future guest room. So it will probably be found on my wish list for christmas.

Happy Sunday

Yesterday started a little grey for me. But it all changed during the day. Suprisingly I found a package in the mail (that I strangely missed on saturday) adressed to me! It was from a very sweet friend. It couldn't have arrived on a better day! She sent a very cute card, by Hanna Werning, a funny match box from Designtorget with Ernst Kirschsteiger and his strange statments and the last copy of my favorite deco magazine(that I can't seem to find in this city..) Living etc! Thank you so, so much Anna! You are the best!

So, I left the apartment with a smile on my face and went to meet mon monsieur. We went to see Living Box, a design exposition. Later we also got a gift from the parents of mon monsieur, an agave plant! So grey sunday went to be happy sunday!

Arper leaf lounge chair

It is not really time to fix up the balcony.. But I can not stop to think about it. I want to buy arrangements of fall plants in big pots, get cosy lightning, nice seating and spend the evening wraped in a comfy blanket. But instead I went to the nearby park today to, atleast, take some nice pictures of the fall colors around the park. I spent a nice time, and got some great shots too. But, I still have the balcony planning in my head.

I know for sure which fauteuils I want. No other then the Leaf lounge chair, in black. Designed byLievore, Altherr and Molina for Arper (2005). I love leafs, if you had'nt noticed already..

Virrvarr

One of my favorite furnitures is my Perstorps table with the "Virrvarr" pattern. Not only do I love it for the design, it used to belong to my great-grandmother. So I tresure it dearly. This summer it got a good scrub with sand paper and a new coat of vernish. So it looks as good as new again!

The swedish prince, Sigvard Bernadotte, designed the pattern "Virrvarr". And it is the most famous of the patterns for Perstorps laminate sheeting. My desk in school had the same pattern, as many worktops in swedish kitchens. At Sassabrassa you can find many new designed products with the famous pattern. And Formica still make the laminate sheeting worktops for kitchens.

Orla Kiely range at Heal's

The amazing Orla Kiely, has released a new line of furnitures, bed linen, etc for Heal's.
This makes me want to jump in the car and head to Britain right this minute. Click here to see the rest. They also sell her series of notebooks, bags and cups that I so long have been wanting.

I used to own this little guy bought at Heal's before too. That was before one of the monsters knocked it on the floor and it broke into pieces..

After the move, I will try to take a weekend trip or something to the UK avec mon monsieur. Hope they still sell these things above then..

Today I had plan for a quiet day with lunch and latte in the sun on the balcony. Usually it is very calm there, with view over a garden. But just as I started to make my lunch I heard an awful noise.. Lawn mower... And I am allergic to grass.. So no way I could sit out there now. Today is really not the best time to have big running red eyes, since I am invited to a catalouge launch for a furniture store tonight. I made their furniture layout for the store this year, so I want to see it live. And of course eat one or two of their yummy snacks.

So sad but true, I had my lunch by the computer googling my new favorite tv host, Stephane Marie. He is the host of Silence ça pousse! at France 5, a french tv show about gardening. He goes to peoples houses and help them plan and fix their garden. And he is incredible! I never dreamed about a big garden, but I do watching him. So, when I ever get a piece of dirt to dig in I will call him!

But for the time beeing I have to settle with my citrus trees I got from a friend who moved back to the land fare fare away. And my tiny succelents which anxiously waiting for my father-in-law to make a pot for them.

Ripped this picture out from an Elle Decoration some years ago. I like the wall of frames. I am on my way making my own wall like this. But like it is now i don't want to make more holes in the walls, so nine frames is enough for the moment. Even if I have many prints and pictures lying around waiting to be displayed.

Stringhyllan -modern since 1949

I, like all other swedes, like the String system. Designed in 1949 by Nisse and Kajsa Strinning, and still going strong. It is a classic that you find in many swedish homes, young or old.

I had one before, but I want a new one in white/white, or maybe two..

Bed room inspiration

I am thinking about making a bird mobile like that myself. The color combination in picture two could work in my bed room, would match the curtains Hanna Linje (picture 4) that I already have from IKEA. Just noticed that the curtains seemed to have been discontinued...
In the third picture I like how they displayed the frames. The picture is from Ana's home at Rearranged Design. All the prints are bought via Etsy. The biggest print on the bottom I know is by Vol.25.

Kitchen inspiration

Flipping trough my inspiration map I found this kitchen. I like the color combination white/black/yellow, the clean feeling and a splash of color for the eye with the yellow chairs. And all the herbes on the countertop takes away the too steril feeling. The picture is from an old Sköna Hem. I wish our tiny kitchen was anything like this. One can only dream that I will have a scandi kitchen again.

Kay Bojesen Monkey

This little guy, the Kay Bojesen Monkey, was a gift from mon monsieur. And he has been hanging around in our living room ever since.

Yesterday I heard a noise and saw that he lost his arm.. Just like that, without any reason or warnings.

The only reason I can think about is that he hung (in the arm that is now broken) on a lamp for some months before we moved him down to sit on a shelf. So maybe the rubber dryed out, since he was hanging in the window.

Well, i don't know. But I want to fix him though.

Entré

Entré from Rörstrand was designed by Carl-Harry Stålhane. It was produced between 1957-1960. It is made out of stoneware with relief stipes and shiny bright colors. The production stopped because it was to expensive to make it.

Coffee and tea

I drink a lot of tea, and sometimes latte. Plain black coffee is not for me, but I still have coffee cups for visitors that wants their coffee black.

My white big cups I use for tea or latte. They are from Trend Interiör. But Trend Interiör has sadly changed their style since some years back. I ordered them when I worked as a purchaser for a design store. I have had them for years and they still do the trick. I love drinking from them. They are the perfect size and I like that there is no ear on them so I can warm my hands at the same time as I sipp the warm drink.

The black ones I have in white too. But with our small kitchen the white ones are for the moment banished packed down in the basement. They are also some years old and are from Hemtex. They remind me of Entré from the 50's by Carl-Harry Stålhane for Rörstrand.

Both spoons are by Arne Jacobsen for Georg Jensen. Originally designed for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. The ones on the picture is the latte spoon and the expresso spoon.

The tray is from Åhléns.

Eames inspired shelf

I like this shelf alot, that is why it got to move all the way from fare fare away with me here.

The only thing is that I am a little sad it got out of production, or else I would buy more from the same series. It was a bargin! And I love the design.

I bought it at Mio in Sweden, and I know they didn't sell many. Thats why it got discontinued. I think they would sell more of them now though, since many people that comes to my home comment it and ask where it's from.

Marché aux puces

The last things I brought home with me from a flea market was these three things.
An "uglycute" ceramic bird, that I couldn't decide if it was cute or just plan old ugly. But for little under 3 dollars it got to come home with me.

A relief vase with leaf pattern by
Mari Simmulson number 6 Upsala Ekeby for SGPF, also just under 3 dollars.

And a little unmarked blue vase, for 2 dollars.

Since we live very small for the moment I don't have the perfect home for all my vases and things. But for the new apartment we want 3 rooms. Which means I will have more space to put my beloved vases and stuff.

Around my house

This is our latest investment, new curtains for the living room. I have been having my eyes on these for a long time, so we bought them at Åhléns when we visited in Sweden this summer.

The window is only 66.9 inches (170cm) high, so I just sewed them up by hand so we can use them later.

Its hard to capture them good with the camera. But they look really great in person!

I live with mon monsieur and mes deux monstres (four legged with spiky ears, also reffered to as cats) in a small rental apartment in a city fare fare away from my native country. I love interior design and spend all my time searching for new inspiration.

Since we are supposed to move to a new city in five months I can not, and will not fix all the things I would normally fix in an apartment. For the moment I have lots of free time, which I would normally spend fixing things in, or for, the apartment.. But I have so much inspiration and need to fix, so I think I will burst. See my dilemma?

So, in the meantime I was thinking I could write it all down here!
